    Oh, very cool! Not just that the subject of the meeting was cool, but I’m kind of glad that Meetup.com could work in practice – at least, in areas with sufficiently many Meetup-friendly people. It all sounds rather Protospiel-esque, in a good way.

      Mm, it’s a bit more manageable scale than Protospiel, which I get the impression is Deeply Serious. Really BoardGameGeek ought to be the place to organize this sort of thing (and maybe people do?), but Meetup worked very well for this in practice. At least two of the people there had found it through Meetup rather than (as I did) knowing a participant beforehand.

        I only know one person who goes/went to Protospiel, and he personally is not Deeply Serious at all. 🙂 Though he might well be while he’s playtesting!
