Heh – just posted that I was stuck, then worked it out…

That took me well over 30 minutes, though. Nice puzzle !

Well done! It took me several goes to get the timing right on the final stage to avoid getting hideously chainsawed…

I think Hapland 2, which looks like more of the very similar, can wait until tomorrow lunchtime, though.

Its embarrassing that I couldn’t get anywhere and then I found the walkthrough and still coudln’t do it. πŸ™‚

I don’t like the way i nthose games you had to do some things with the right timing. It makes it far too hard for poor little me. πŸ™‚

that’s for two. The walkthrough led to me finishing the first one. πŸ™‚

Might have been a duff walkthrough? I managed to finish 2 this lunchtime without any particular fiendish pieces of timing…

I had two walkthroughs that seemed to agree. http://www.pcwize.com/hapland2_walkthrough/ is the prettier one. I think the only thing I’d need to know how to do is to get rid of the mine in the water (or the blob it seems after another attempt). Basically right near the end of the walkthrough when it tells you to do the window again…

Hmm, didn’t know you could get another blob! You don’t need one, though — you can use the first blob (ie. the one that’s there at the start) to set off the underwater landmine, as long as you have the water flowing rightwards.

Someone must have had very quick fingers and / or a lot of patience to do all those screenshots!

Yeah, I worked out after a while that I could have the guy on the right do a lot more running aorund. And I don’t think you *can* get another blob. Given that the thing at the end said v6 or something I’m wondering if he’s tweaked that slightly over time so the walkthroughs I found (the first two I found were both in agreement) became obsoleted in subtle ways. Either that or some moron got it wrong and a bigger moron copied him. πŸ™‚

And the screenshots are probably not that hard. print screen button is designed for this kind of thing. πŸ™‚

P.S. Done it now in case it isn’t clear. πŸ™‚

Hmmm… I get the distinct feeling I’m missing something. I can’t get anything to happen at all, except topple a log.

Here’s a starter (highlight to read):
      * Click on the grey trapdoor, to open it;
      * click on the yellow arrow below it, and a man will come out. You can use him to fire the gun.

Finished it eventually. Does flashing the lightbulb until the bloke smashes it make any difference to the outcome?

AFAICS the lightbulb is completely irrelevant.

For bonus points, managed to find out how to complete it without having to fire the bloke out of the cannon!

What he said he’d done was flip the pointy stick/lever over just as the stone was falling from the bell, and this bounced the stone straight back onto the mine.

I saw the end result, and clearly, he’d achieved this end, but I didn’t watch the actual process. So far, I’ve been unable to reproduce it myself. I suspect the timing may be very exact.

Blimey. Well, that’s very clever, but it doesn’t sound as much fun as firing the bloke out of the cannon πŸ˜‰

I did reproduce it, then realised I hadn’t opened the RH window so the door didn’t open. Ringing the bell again tipped the arrow over.

I haven’t been able to reproduce it since.
